TF2023: Registration will open on September 23rd, 2023
Dear racers and supporters,
Team FEAR is proud to announce the restart of the Adventure Challenge Race. Due to COVID, all racing had been suspended for the last 3 years since 2019.
During this forced hiatus the organising committee has been rebuilding our capabilities given that many of us have moved on or left HK.
Therefore in an attempt to simplify things, our race this year will be an amended version. Notable changes include:
– Race Date: December 3rd, 2023
– Age groups: U9, U10, U11, U12 and U13 categories (we hope to expand the age groups once more in 2024 and beyond).
– Course: No bike course or bike check.
– Teams: All teams will be teams of 2.
– Mandatory Marshal: Each team must supply 1 person to assist us as a marshal for the race day. This could be a parent, helper, older friend or sibling (aged 15+). This requires no previous experience just a commitment to help us ensure the safety of all our racers. Full instructions will be shared in due course.
– Registration and Ticketing: This will be via ticketflap.com and the event will cost $900 per team of 2. Registration will open on September 23rd, 2023.
Other factors remain the same such as our committee being a wholly voluntary organisation and we donate all surpluses from the race to our partner charity Youth Outreach www.yo.org.hk.
Race Safety
This race is designed as a challenging sporting event. As such, racers must adhere to all the instructions issued to them and by race marshals on the course. All racers / parents / guardians must also agree to a waiver of liability.
Race Equipment Requirements
Racers must wear a bike helmet or equivalent head protection and gloves at all times. Racers must carry sufficient water for their use.
Recommended Race Equipment
– Small backpack
– Suncream
– Water bottle or water bladder system
– An after-race bag containing a towel, clean change of clothes and footwear
– Bags of enthusiasm
