TF2020: Cancelation of this Year’s Race
Dear Team Fear Survivors and Supporters,
Thank you to those who have posted or emailed us regarding the 2020 Team Fear Challenge.
We do apologise for not responding sooner, but as you can imagine, given the ever-changing situation with Covid-19 in Hong Kong, the Team Fear Committee has had a lot to discuss and consider.
As always, the safety of our participants and volunteers is of the utmost importance. With this in mind, we have looked at a number of options including reducing the scale of the race, how to comply with social distancing measures put in place by the government, and how to keep our competitors and volunteers safe in what is a close-contact event. We had hoped to be able to move ahead until the recent spike in cases in HK and the subsequent government restrictions made it unrealistic to do so.
Therefore, it is with great disappointment that we announce that we will not be holding the 2020 Team Fear Challenge in November as hoped. We are focusing our efforts on preparing for a 2021 event, hoping that by then things will have stabilised and allow us to proceed with minimal risk to our participants and volunteers.
We do not have a date fixed yet for 2021, however, the Team Fear Committee will be meeting regularly over the coming months to evaluate the situation and will work with our sponsors, Youth Outreach, HKRI and numerous other parties that are critical to the success of the event.
We understand this will be disappointing for many of you, but we trust that you understand that our first priority is to hold an event that is safe for everyone involved.
We will share updated information when it becomes available, and look forward to seeing you when we can safely proceed with the race.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Stay healthy!
The Team Fear Committee
